Why the 30 x 48 Size Works
The ST3048EC sits in the middle of the Mixrite 30 Inch Series. At 48" wide it gives you 1,440 square inches of flat work surface, or 10 square feet, while still fitting in many places a 5' or 6' table will not. The 30" depth gives you room to set a cutting board at the front and keep ingredients or containers behind it without reaching over your work.
If you are replacing an older table, measure the space you have before you order. Check the width between walls or equipment, how far the table can come out from the wall, and how much aisle space is left for people to pass behind you.
The Flat Top
The top is flat edge to edge, with no backsplash or raised rear edge. That makes it a good choice when the table will stand away from a wall, sit in the middle of the kitchen, or be worked from both sides. A flat top also lets you slide long items, sheet pans or boxes on and off from any side.
Atosa polishes the entire top to a satin finish and sound deadens it, which cuts down on the drumming noise a bare sheet of steel can make when pans and tools are set down. All of the edges are turned down, so there is no sharp cut edge at the front where staff lean or reach.
If the table will go against a wall and you want to keep spills and small items from falling behind it, look at the ST3048ECB4. It is the same 30 x 48 size with a 4" backsplash along the back.
The Undershelf
The undershelf is stainless steel and adjusts to the height you need. Atosa lists it at 24" x 42", with a 370 lb rating. Use it for bins, mixing bowls, sheet pans, boxed product or small equipment you do not use every hour.
Before you set the shelf height, measure the tallest item you plan to keep under the table. Setting the shelf low gives you more clearance for tall containers. Setting it higher puts items closer to hand.
Load Ratings
Atosa lists 500 lb on the top and 370 lb on the undershelf. Treat those numbers as the limits, not targets. Spread heavy loads across the surface instead of stacking them in one spot, and keep the heaviest items toward the legs.
If you need a base for heavy countertop cooking equipment, an equipment stand is built for that job. The SE3048ECR2 is a 48-1/4" wide, 30" deep stand that Atosa rates at 900 lb on top.
Legs, Feet and Leveling
The ST3048EC stands on 4 stainless steel tubular legs, 1-5/8" in diameter, with 1" adjustable bullet feet. If your floor is uneven, use the feet to level the table and stop it from rocking once it is in place. A stainless steel hat channel runs under the top for support.
Casters and Overshelf
Two add-ons are sold separately:
- WA400001 caster set: 4 casters, 5" high, with 1-1/2" expanding stems. Casters let you roll the table out to clean behind and under it. Keep in mind they add height to the table.
- MROS-4RE double overshelf: Atosa lists this overshelf for the ST3048EC. It adds storage above the work surface.
Compare Nearby Sizes
If 48" is not quite right, here is how the ST3048EC compares with the rest of the 30" deep flat top tables:
| Model | Size (W x D) | Legs | Top capacity |
|---|---|---|---|
| ST3030EC | 30" x 30" | 4 | 440 lb |
| ST3036EC | 36" x 30" | 4 | 470 lb |
| ST3048EC | 48" x 30" | 4 | 500 lb |
| ST3060EC | 60" x 30" | 4 | 520 lb |
| ST3072EC | 72" x 30" | 4 | 540 lb |
| ST3084EC | 84" x 30" | 6 | 660 lb |
| ST3096EC | 96" x 30" | 6 | 680 lb |
Need the same 48" width at a different depth?
- ST2448EC: 48" x 24". Choose this when aisle space is tight. Atosa lists 460 lb on the top.
- ST3648EC: 48" x 36". Choose this when you want a deeper surface for larger batches or two people working across from each other.
Where It Fits
- Restaurant prep lines: a 34" high surface for portioning, cutting and assembly.
- Bakeries: flat space for dough work, with the undershelf holding bins and pans.
- Catering and commissary kitchens: prep space for packing and staging orders.
- Back of house: a surface for receiving and breaking down deliveries.
Assembly
The ST3048EC ships knocked down (KD) to keep the box smaller, and Atosa says it is easy to assemble. The shipping weight is 62 lb. Plan to put it together close to where it will stand, then level it with the bullet feet.
Before You Order
- Measure the space: 48" wide, 30" deep and 34" high.
- Check the aisle space left behind the table once it is in place.
- Decide whether you need a flat top or a backsplash.
- Check what goes underneath against the 24" x 42" undershelf.
- Decide on add-ons now: WA400001 casters or the MROS-4RE overshelf.
