The 24 x 36 Size
At 36" wide, the ST2436EC is a good size for a single-person station where depth is limited. It gives one cook room to work a cutting board with ingredients to one side, and the 24" depth keeps it from crowding the aisle. Atosa rates it at 430 lb on the top, a step up from the 400 lb of the two smaller 24" deep tables.
The top gives you 864 square inches of work surface, about 6 square feet. Before you order, measure the space: you need 36" of width, and the table comes 24" out from the wall. Check how much aisle space is left behind anyone standing at the table.
Choosing the Depth
A 24" deep table takes up the least floor space. It suits narrow kitchens, wall-side runs and spots where the aisle behind you has to stay clear. The trade-off is less room front to back for boards, pans and containers.
The Flat Top
The top is flat edge to edge, with no backsplash or raised rear edge. That makes it the right choice when the table stands away from a wall, sits in an open area, or gets worked from more than one side. You can slide pans, boards and boxes on and off from any edge.
Atosa polishes the whole top to a satin finish and sound deadens it, which reduces the ringing noise of tools and pans set down on bare steel. All edges are turned down, so there is no sharp cut edge where staff lean or reach.
If the table will stand against a wall, look at the ST2436ECB4 (4" backsplash). It is the same 24 x 36 size with a raised back to keep spills and small items from falling behind the table.
Height and Clearance
The work surface is 34" high. The optional WA400001 casters are 5" high and will raise the table if you add them. If the table will slide under a shelf or counter overhang, measure that clearance first.
The Undershelf
The undershelf is stainless steel and adjusts in height. Atosa lists it at 30" x 18", rated at 320 lb. Use it for bins, bowls, sheet pans and boxed product. Measure your tallest item before you set the height: a lower shelf gives more clearance, a higher shelf keeps items closer to hand.
Load Ratings
Atosa lists 430 lb on the top and 320 lb on the undershelf. Treat those as limits. Spread heavy items out and keep the heaviest near the legs.
For heavy countertop cooking equipment, use an equipment stand instead. The SE3036ECR2 is 36-1/4" wide and 30" deep, and Atosa recommends up to 800 lb on top.
Legs and Leveling
The ST2436EC stands on 4 stainless steel tubular legs, 1-5/8" in diameter, with 1" adjustable bullet feet. Use the feet to level it on an uneven floor so it does not rock.
Add-Ons
Sold separately:
- WA400001 caster set: 4 casters, 5" high, with 1-1/2" expanding stems. Casters let you roll it out to clean behind and under it.
