The 24 x 48 Size
The ST2448ECR2 is the 4' table in the 2" rear edge line. It gives you a full prep station along a wall in a narrow room, with a 24" depth that keeps the aisle clear. It is the same size as the flat top ST2448EC and the 4" backsplash ST2448ECB4, so the choice comes down to what you want along the back.
The top gives you 1,152 square inches of work surface, about 8 square feet. Before you order, measure the space: you need 48" of width, and the table comes 24" out from the wall. Check how much aisle space is left behind anyone standing at the table.
Choosing the Depth
A 24" deep table takes up the least floor space. It suits narrow kitchens, wall-side runs and spots where the aisle behind you has to stay clear. The trade-off is less room front to back for boards, pans and containers.
The 2" Rear Edge
The back of the top turns up 2". That lip stops containers and pans from being pushed off the back, and keeps small spills on the table instead of running down the wall. It is a lighter option than a 4" backsplash: the overall height is 36" instead of 38", which can matter under a low shelf, window or pass-through.
The top has the same satin finish, sound deadening and turned-down edges as the other Mixrite tables.
Same size, different top: ST2448ECB4 has a 4" backsplash, ST2448EC has a flat top.
Height and Clearance
The work surface is 34" high, and the overall height is 36" to the top of the rear edge. If the table goes under a wall shelf, window, pass-through or outlet, measure from the floor to the bottom of it. You need more than 36" for the table to fit.
The Undershelf
The undershelf is stainless steel and adjusts in height. Use it for bins, bowls, sheet pans and boxed product. Measure your tallest item before you set the height: a lower shelf gives more clearance, a higher shelf keeps items closer to hand.
Load Ratings
The Atosa listing for this model does not include a weight rating. Spread heavy items out and keep the heaviest near the legs.
For heavy countertop cooking equipment, use an equipment stand instead. The SE3048ECR2 is 48-1/4" wide and 30" deep, and Atosa recommends up to 900 lb on top.
Legs and Leveling
The ST2448ECR2 stands on 4 stainless steel tubular legs, 1-5/8" in diameter, with 1" adjustable bullet feet. Use the feet to level it on an uneven floor so it does not rock. Against a wall, level it so the back sits evenly along the wall.
